Hoe klinkt het Hofplein

This report explores the sound environment in and around the Hofplein, one of Rotterdam’s major public squares. It examines how the Hofplein sounds today and how it could sound in the future. The findings draw on the listening experiences of local residents and everyday users of the square, on careful on‑site listening, and on the belief that sound can positively shape the experience of public space. The report concludes with a set of recommendations for improving the future soundscape of the Hofplein—so that it becomes a place people enjoy visiting and a pleasant place to spend time.
