Dr. Kirsten van den Bosch

  • Kirsten van den Bosch is an assistant professor at the University of Groningen specializing in soundscape research and auditory perception. Her work investigates how acoustic environments affect well-being, particularly for vulnerable populations such as individuals with intellectual disabilities or dementia. She has published widely on soundscapes, and more recently about the lack of diversity and inclusion in the field. Furthermore, she studies the effects of binaural beats embedded in art for which she collaborates with the artists Delic and Huda. Van den Bosch’s award-winning doctoral work emphasized soundscape quality in care settings and continues to influence interdisciplinary research. She serves as associate editor of Journal of Sonic Studies and contributes to international soundscape science collaborations.
