Dr. Alexandra Supper

Alexandra Supper is an assistant professor in science and technology studies (STS) at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Maastricht University. In relation to sound studies, some of her research interests include the role of sound and listening in scientific practice (especially in relation to discourses about objectivity and interdisciplinarity), as well as the role of sound technologies in popular music (especially in relation to discourses about authenticity). She has published in a variety of journals in the fields of STS, sound studies and popular music studies, and serves as (associate) editor of the journals Science and Technology Studies and the Journal of Sonic Studies.
